"room" mailbox not showing up in public folders list
I just created a new "room" mailbox in exchange 2007. all of my other rooms show up in everyone's public folders list, but this one isn't appearing. am I missing a step here to make it public?

Hi Bill,I would like to explain that the room mailbox should show in the All Room Address Lists instead of the Public Folder Address List. I suggest you run following command to check the Recipient Filter of the Public Folder Address List and Room Address List. Get-AddressList All Rooms Get-AddressList Public Folders I have ran the command on my lab and provide related filter below: Public Folders: (Alias -ne $null -and ObjectCategory -like 'publicFolder') All Rooms: (Alias -ne $null -and (RecipientDisplayType -eq 'ConferenceRoomMailbox' -or RecipientDisplayType -eq 'SyncedConferenceRoomMailbox')) Mike Shen TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

Hi Mikewe don't have an all rooms address list, all of the current rooms are listed under the public folders list which is the way it was set up at the beginning

In that case can you run Get-AddressList "Public Folders" | FL and post the resulthere?Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

This says Public Folder address listincludesonly public folders but not room mailbox... :) RecipientFilter : (Alias -ne $null -and ObjectCategory -eq 'publicFolder')LdapRecipientFilter : (&(mailNickname=*)(objectCategory=publicFolder)) Now question is how old room mailbox shows into public folder and how it was setup atbeginning, can you verify that any one of the old room mailbox shows in public folder address list are really a mailbox in EMC or it is just a public folder with display name has word Room?Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

they are all rooms, ie. in the exchange management console, under "Recipient Type Details" they are all listed as "Room Mailbox". I also checked all of the properties of my new room mailbox, and the settings are identical to the existing room mailboxes.

Hi Bill, Please let me know if you run update-addresslist Public Folders command. Then, please use Outlook to check whether the Room mailboxes are still show in the Public Folders address list. If the Room mailboxes are still listed in the Public Folder Address List, please capture a screenshot to me at v-mishen@microsoft.com. In addition, please run get-addresslist and post result here or send to me. Mike Shen TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

Hi Bill, From your screenshots, I notice that the rooms which you listed are mail enabled public folders instead of the Resource Mailbox. Therefore, the public folders are listed in Public Folders address list. Nevertheless, the mailbox you created is Resource Mailbox. Therefore, it is normal the Resource mailbox is not listed in Public Folder list.
